Tokyo Winter Illumination: Shinjuku Minami Lumi and Shinjuku Terrace City Illumination 2019-2020

Winter illuminations are top attractions in Japan during winter, and numbers of special winter illumination events are held in Japan. Many of them are held in the center of Tokyo which are very easy to access or visit while travelling. Shinjuku is one of the most popular districts in Tokyo, and there are two very popular winter illumination events held around Shinjuku Station: Shinjuku Minami Lumi and Shinjuku Terrace City Illumination. Both events are set right next to each other and only a few step away from the station. Here are details about the events!


-Shinjuku Minami Lumi

Shinjuku Minami Lumi (新宿ミナミルミ) take place at several venues around south exit area of Shinjuku Station including Shinjuku Southern Terrace, Takashimaya Times Square, Shinjuku MAYNDS Tower, JR Minami Shinjuku Building, JR SHINJUKU MIRAINA TOWER, Shinjuku SUICA Penguin Park. The event features various kinds of illuminations and Christmas trees. This long run winter illumination is available for 3 months from 14 November 2018 to 14 February 2019.

-Shinjuku Terrace City Illumination

Shinjuku Terrace City Illumination (新宿テラスシティイルミネーション) is held at several indoor and outdoor venues at Shinjuku Terrace City which is a large shopping and entertainment complex consists of multiple buildings (Odakyu Department Store, HALC, MYLORD, Mosaic Street, Odakyu ACE, Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower, Shinjuku Southern Terrace, Flags). The event features countless baby pink lights which are set around west and south exit of Shinjuku Station.
